Institute of R3 Technologies of Guangzhou University, focuses on researches of VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality), and ER (expanded reality) technologies, and explores the potential applications of the combination of VR and IoT. It will function as a platform for intelligent manufacturing and design visualization and product optimization. Beside the graphic rendering and content-generating of VR, the tactile, aural, sensing, and motion capture researches are also part of our interests. Teleoperation and the related robotic technologies will be added to our system to provide a complete solution for our reality construction. The Institute will endeavor to integrate technologies in perception-management and 3D virtual immersive environment through software as well as hardware innovations and standardization, and thus facilitate invention of new tools and formation of new strategies of human-machine interaction.
The Institute will also collaborate with other institutes and thus develop applications in engineering simulation, industrial IoT, medical therapeutics, commercial exchanges, household digitization, education and training, gaming and entertainment, art creation and preservation, and so on. It will also cooperate with industrial entities and other organizations so as to commercialize the newly developed technologies and serve the society for its better future.
